64 UNIVERSITY PLACE

 

 

64 University Place is located just outside the Greenwich Village Historic District, much to the chagrin of preservationists who unsuccessfully lobbied to save the four-story commercial building it replaced, on grounds that it was once the offices of influential publisher Grove Press. Nevertheless, with new construction projects in the Village, few and far between, it is expected to attract considerable interest. Power brokers Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes have already announced their intentions to buy into the building, which will offer nine one-bedrooms, 13 two-bedroom units, four three-bedrooms, and two penthouse units.
